ORIGINS AND EXTINCTIONS

Some of the “acronymic” entities of the UN that function in ways that are complementary to the O & E Days and World Center endeavors include the IPCC, UNFCCC, OECD, UNEP, and also Future Earth. The highly laudable efforts and accomplishments of the foregoing and also Global Commons Alliance must be gratefully recognized. The Global Commons Alliance is an alliance of 60 NGOs and has remarkably similar overall goals, strategies and tactics to some of what is envisioned for the World Center for Survival of Cultural and Biological Heritage. It is posited, however, that the uniquely integrated approach across the breadth of participating leading public intellectuals and activists—all cynosures on their own—in the annual showcasing event, Origins and Extinctions Days, and the continuing efforts of those leaders and their associates working through the World Center and KIN, would, in addition to their effective promulgation of the 5 Freedoms and 2 Responsibilities, provide 1) unique and complementary ideas and proposed actions and 2) collaborative actions to those of the aforementioned UN entities and NGO alliances.
